「あれ？こんなお店あったっけ？」馴染みのエリアから少し足を伸ばせば、そこには私の知らないTOKYOがたくさん。そんなまだ見ぬTOKYOとの出会いを求めて、お散歩へ出かけました。
“Oh...I never knew there was a place like this!”
If I go a little farther from my favorite areas, there is so much more TOKYO that I haven’t yet found. So, I go out in search of new discoveries.
オーガニックを、ベーシックに。自然にも人にも優しい生活用品を扱うお店へ行ってきました。幼稚園経営からスタートした会社だから、社名はおもちゃ箱。木のおもちゃが子供の感性を育てます。
Let's make organic basic. I went to a shop that carries goods which are good to both people and nature. The name of the shop is "Omochabako" which means "toy box" in Japanese, because they originally got their start as a kindergarten.
ドイツのオーガニック洗濯洗剤「sonett(ソネット)」。私も2年くらい愛用しています。天然のラベンダーとレモングラスの香りが、部屋干しすると部屋中に広がって、まるでアロマを焚いているよう。
It's a laundry detergent from Germany made from natural materials. I have been using it for two years now. When I dry my clothes indoors, there is a fine scent of lavender and lemongrass in the room.
自由が丘のお店では定期的に様々なワークショップを開催しています。この日、私は「羊毛ワークショップ」に参加してみました。お花のブローチを作ります。
They hold various events regularly. I took part in a crafting class with woolen. That day, we made flower broaches.
まずは先生のお手本を見ながら、フェルトニードルの使い方を教わります。羊毛を二つ折りにして針でツンツン。だんだん花びらの形になってきた！
First of all, I was taught how to use a felt needle while watching the teacher demonstrate. We fold a piece of wool and prick it with the needle. Then it gradually begins to take the shape of a flower petal.
５つ花びらができたら、一つに結んで花を形成します。装飾にはインドのサリーを紡いだ鮮やかな糸を。さて、どんなブローチになったかな？
After we make 5 petals, we tie them together and form a flower. I used colorful threads taken from Indian saris for decoration. How did the broach come out, you ask?
みんな上手〜！ 集中してものづくりをする時間って無心になれて、なんとなく頭もスッキリする。ストレス発散にいいかも。
Everyone did great! When I concentrate on making something, it clears my mind. It's a good way to relieve stress.
梅の花のブローチ、似合ってるかな？ 材料はもちろんオーガニック。有機栽培の草で育った羊の毛を植物などで染めているんだって。
I made my broach in the shape of a plum blossom. Does it suit me? Of course, we only used organic materials. The sheep that provide the wool are fed organic grass, and the dye used for the wool is made from plants.
