「あれ？こんなお店あったっけ？」馴染みのエリアから少し足を伸ばせば、そこには私の知らないTOKYOがたくさん。そんなまだ見ぬTOKYOとの出会いを求めて、お散歩へ出かけました。

“Oh...I never knew there was a place like this！”
If I go a little farther from my favorite areas, there is so much more TOKYO that I haven’t yet found. So, I go out in search of new discoveries.

新宿駅から電車に揺られること1時間半。東京から少し脚をのばして、お隣の千葉県へとやってきました。東武アーバンパークラインの運河駅から、利根運河沿いを歩いて10分ほど…たどり着いたのは、雑木林の入り口。

It takes an hour and half from Shinjuku Station to reach here. From Tokyo I went a little way farther and arrived in Chiba Prefecture. From Unga Station on the Tobu Urban Park Line I walked 10 minutes along the Tone Canal and came to the entrance of a thicket.

小さな看板に従って小道を抜けると、現れたのは緑に覆われた2階建ての古民家カフェ。雑木林の中にぽつんと建っていて、絵本のなかに迷い込んだような世界観です。

Following the signs through the path, I found a cafe in an old two-story building in the greenery. It is a picturesque scene. I feel as if I were in a fairytale.

1階が料理場、2階がカフェ。ドライフラワーや木製家具の温もりが心地よいインテリアも、すごく素敵でしょ？

The kitchen is on the first floor and the cafe is on the second floor. Their decor with dried flowers and wooden furniture is very fancy, isn’t it?

ランチのおすすめは、「サルサキーマカレー」。15種類のスパイスでつくる本格カレーに添えられれたトマトのサルサソースが、ピリッとアクセントになっていて美味しい。

I recommend their salsa keema curry for the lunch. The curry is made with 15 kinds of spices and topped with a tomato salsa sauce, which gives the dish a spicy accent.

2階の外には突き出したテラス席があって、自然に囲まれて過ごすこともできます。秋にはキツツキがカンカンと木をつつく音も聞こえるそうですよ。

There is an outdoor terrace on the second floor too. If you are lucky, you may hear a woodpecker pecking on a tree.

手作りのケーキやマフィンも美味しいけど、デザートの一押しは「季節の杏仁パフェ」。10月は、種無しピオーネとシャインマスカットをたっぷり使ったぶどうパフェです。これ、本当にびっくりするくらい美味でした！

Their homemade cakes and muffins are delicious, but my number one recommendation is the seasonal Annin parfait. In October, they serve grape Annin parfait with Pione grapes and muscats. It is exquisite!

また、広いお庭の至るところにイスやベンチが置いてあるので、テイクアウトしてお庭で過ごすのもOK。いろんな席に座って、いろんな角度から自然を感じてみたいな。

In the spacious garden outside, there are many chairs and benches placed here and there. You can order to go and enjoy your food outdoors. I want to sit in every chair and enjoy the view from all the different angles.
