カフェを求めて、東京から世界まで。 東京・広尾で宮崎名物「チキン南蛮」をいただける！リノベカフェ〈tenement〉へ。／Alice in Cafeland

九州きっての美食の街・宮崎のソウルフードを味わえると聞いて、広尾のカフェ〈テネメント〉へ行ってきました。

I visited cafe tenement in Hiroo, Tokyo. They serve the delicious local cuisine of ‘Miyazaki’, which is known as the best gastronomy city in the Kyushu region.

店名の〈テネメント〉は、英語で「長屋」の意味。その名の通り、築100年の古い長屋を改装したお店です。

The shop’s name “tenement” means a Japanese-style single story row house. As the name suggests, they renovated an old row house that was more than a hundred years-old.

店内にはレコードプレーヤーやピアノ椅子が置かれ、音楽家である店主のセンスが光ります。この日かかっていた音楽は、レトロポップでご機嫌な洋楽でした。

The owner is also a musician. He decorates the interior with things like a record player and a piano stool. On this day he played western retro and pop music.

宮崎県出身の店主が腕をふるうのは、地元の食材を使った郷土料理。なかでも食べてほしいのは宮崎名物・チキン南蛮。ジューシーな薩摩地鳥と九州の甘辛ダレのコンビネーションがたまりません。

The owner is from Miyazaki and cooks his hometown’s local cuisine. My recommendation is the deep-fried chicken dish. Juicy Satsuma chicken goes well with the sweet-and- spicy sauce.

私のお気に入りは2階の奥の席。天井に丸い窓あって、頭上に青い空が広がります。お昼は日光が降り注ぎ、とっても開放的な気分に。

I like the seat in the back of the second floor. You can look up at the sky through a round window in the ceiling. The sunlight shines through at noon and it feels open-aired.

お昼時ならランチタイム限定のチキン南蛮カリーもおすすめ。卵たっぷりの自家製タルタルソースがカレーによく合います。

If you visit at lunch time, I also recommend the curry rice with deep-fried chicken. The homemade tartar sauce goes well with spicy curry.

落ち着いていて一人でも入りやすい雰囲気だから、ふらっと立ち寄ってのんびりするのもいいと思います。
